Barcelona 7 Levante 0: Martino enjoys dream league start as Messi and Co run riot

Running riot: Lionel Messi and Co were lethal in the first match of the La Liga season, scoring six first half goalsNew boss Gerardo Martino enjoyed one of the easiest days of his managerial career in his La Liga debut as Barcelona scored six first-half goals.
Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring after just three minutes, and the goals continued to pour in.
Messi doubled their lead nine minutes later, before two goals in three minutes from Dani Alves and Pedro midway through the half put the game beyond reach. Messi then scored his second from the penalty spot before Xavi netted just before half-time.
Pedro scored a somewhat controversial seventh goal in the second half, while Brazilian wonderkid Neymar - who started the game on the bench because he has been recovering from anemia - was not able to net in his La Liga debut.
