United ready to pounce for Madrid ace Ozil as German is made available for £38m

Manchester United are interested in Mesut Ozil as the German is set to be made available for £38million by Real Madrid.
Bild report the 24-year-old playmaker, who can play both centrally and from the wings, fears for his Real future with the arrival of Gareth Bale imminent.
Ozil’s position in the side has already been placed into jeopardy, with manager Carlo Ancelotti having the enviable dilemma of working out how to fit in Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Ozil, Isco and Luka Modric.

Although his place in the national squad is all but assured, Ozil is wary of the burgeoning talent in Germany and wants to be playing regularly this season to ensure he is a starter at next year’s World Cup in Brazil.
United would be favourites to take the talented midfielder off Madrid’s hands, with manager David Moyes keen to recruit a creative spark, while Ozil would also be the marquee signing the Old Trafford board are craving to show the club can still attract the world’s top talent without Sir Alex Ferguson.

Moyes has already seen repeated attempts to sign Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas prove unsuccessful, while an opening offer for Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini was branded as ‘derisory’ by the Merseyside club.
United remain confident of signing Fellaini - who is rated at around £23million by Everton - but Moyes is also keen to bring in a talent like Ozil, that can unlock defences.
Meanwhile, the club’s pursuit of Ozil’s team-mate Modric appears to have ended. Madrid are keen to keep hold of the Croat after Xabi Alonso was ruled out for three months following surgery on his foot.
